8673b HP signal generator / sweeper 2 - 26.5 ghz. FEATURES: modulation support for external use, attenuator down to -100 db, and goes up to positive 10 db, Low phase noise and great signal purity/stability ability to extend frequency fairly fast sweeper external alc we removed one of the rack handles because it was in the way of our workspace. I can probably find it before shipping if you need it. works like a champ! this has been my workhorse signal generator for years. never gave me any issues . and the signal is exceptionally clean with no phase noise especially for a model this age. this was the best in the world for low phase noise and overall performance when it was released.and it still rivals the newer models in terms of signal quality. hp states this can be used with the milimeter source modules to extend the frequency to 110 ghz! Im not sure how that works but you can read up on it. I was disappointed when I bought the 83632B(8000$) and found out that the phase noise and signal purity is actually much better on this 8673B than the 83632B which is like 6 years newer! I needed the newer one to work with the TAM module as I dont believe this 8673B works with tam which is for automated software calibrations. tested signal into my spectrum analyzer and sweeps and cw's great , amplitude accuracy is within spec(about 0.5 db plus or minus across the span), . signal output is clean and well within spec for phase noise , harmonics etc... and signal is stable meaning the phase lock loop is working perfectly.there are no spikes in the noise floor when putting trace hold on a spectrum analyzer so yto and ytm are good. this is from around 1990 or so. , it is an old unit so there may be some small quirks but its guaranteed to work normally and within cal spec , im offering a 14 day right of return on this. pic depicts swept signal. of course theres a certain amount of reflections from the cable but you can see its consistent and flat.
