This is a Fisher Scientific P40 pump, which is a rebadged Alcatel 2002. I bought this as a working pump, but discovered it to be locked up. I disassembled it, and the internals are pristine, looks like a new pump, however, the shaft between the two pump sections was slightly galled which had seized the pump. I carefully cleaned the pump, and reassembled it. The pump runs now and draws a good vacuum, but it's noisy, like a bad bushing. The only other issue with the pump is the rubber fan that is used for the coupler between the motor and the pump. The rubber "splines" are slightly torn, so it's possible that the fan blades are touching the housing and making noise, but it also might be something worse. I ran the motor separately from the pump, and the motor runs great - no noise. The pump itself turns freely. If you have another 2002 and need parts, then this is a great buy. If you know more about these units than I do, you might be able to fix the problem and be on your way.
