Aluminum Pro Channel 3/4 x 3/4 x 3/4 x 48 in, 1/16 in thick, .75 in Description – This is a special type of angle that was developed out of my solar panel business for the building of solar panels and eventually I realized other people had lots of other uses for them. How it works is that there are two 3/4 in channels riveted together. You can use the channel as is or, because it has layers, you can cut through one or both layers to create tabs that can bent back so you can then use to them connect to other angles, flats, objects, and structures. This gives you great flexibility in the design and construction process and allows you to do things that no solid channel can do. These tabs can then be drilled or bent to any angle needed. The metal is excellent at bending with a pliers and can be bent many times before it becomes brittle and breaks. “Pro” does not stand for Professional, rather it stands for Projection, the ability to create projections or tabs at almost any spot on the angle. I been selling these since Feb of 2013 and will keep making them as needed. Each additional Pro Channel is $2.25 in shipping. They are slightly less than a 1/16 of an inch thick on two legs and about 1/8 thick one the span that overlaps. They measure 3/4 x 3/4 x 3/4 x 48 inch. They are easy to work with and are a 3003 type aluminum. We ship from three locations in NC, OH, and FL for the most rapid delivery possible. They can be bent, shaped, or reshaped much more that big chain store angles and flats before they break because of the 3003 alloy grade. Our angles have a rounded bend instead of an sharp edge common to most extruded angles. The electrical and thermal conductivity is higher for this type of aluminum than other grades. Some pieces may have magic marker on them or light scratches. Light scratches are common, magic marker is rare. Note: Please check below if shipping surcharges apply to you before purchasing. If purchasing three or less angles or flats, there is high risk of bending in shipping due abuse of the shipper. Visual Requirements These angles or flats may have discolorations or splotches from time to time. This often looks white. This is rare, but if your application requires a good visual appearance please let us know in the notes section of your order so we may double check our stock and make sure you receive our best appearing pieces. Safety Notification These are formed through a fabrication process and may have sharp edges. We try to keep this to a minimum, but still recommend wearing gloves to protect your hands until they can be fully inspected to make sure it will be safe and will not cause injury to people for your application. Cutting Information and Custom Lengths or Different Sizes These cut easier than the big chain hardware stores because of its alloy. Most people use a fine metal tooth hacksaw, jig saw, and we have had reports of excellent results using a straight sheet metal shears. Ability to use a sheet metal sheers can lower the cutting and fabrication time of your project considerably. Warning: The use of circular saws can cause this material to jam and fly out violently. Most circular saws go too fast which cause the particles to become extremely hot and they fly much faster than wood that can create eye injuries. We can cut to length or cut different sizes for a cutting charge. For example we can take a 3/4 x 3/4 angle and make it a 1/2 x 3/4 angle. We must cut each piece individually except for large bulk orders. Our saw makes a clean cut and does not bend or distort the metal but can leave a rough edge that may need to be filed. Please indicate the cut dimensions in the notes section of your order and we will send a Paypal invoice for the balance. If shipping international, many counties have a max shipping length less than 48in, which requires us to cut before shipping. For other custom sizes that we cannot cut down from our existing stock it usually $100 min because we are required to purchase full length or full sheet sizes from our suppliers. This applies to any dimension over 48in and any width more than 6in. We can fabricate any size many shapes starting 1/2 in and we call also produce angles, channels and flats, in metric sizes. You can use the following formula, which only works for 48in lengths, to calculate an estimate of min order quantity and price for Angles and Flats: Angles: Min Quantity = 120 / (Leg 1 + Leg 2 + thickness) Total Price = 120 + Min Quantity*.81*(thickness/.0625) Flats: Min Quantity = 120 / (Leg 1) Total Price = 120 + Min Quantity*.68*(thickness/.0625) American Made! All my angles and flats are sourced and manufactured in the USA including all the raw materials that go into them. They are made in the states of NC and FL. Despite the lower price the quality is very consistent and high and we always strive to do better. 3003 Aluminum Alloy These angles or flats are made from 3003 Aluminum Alloy. This alloy is about 20% stronger than 1xxxx series having high strength and fatigue resistance. It has excellent corrosion resistance. They are easy to work with and can be polished, brazed, welded, machined, drilled, riveted, bolted, cut, bent, re-bent, sanded, grounded, painted, filed, and buffed to an almost mirror like finish. It can be bent and re-bent more times than higher number alloys before it becomes brittle and breaks. Does not become brittle in extreme subzero weather and keeps its structural strength to 700-900 degrees Fahrenheit melting at about 1150 degrees. Its high electrical conductance is good for making electrical components or for using as grounding stakes. They dissipate heat quickly making for good custom thermal radiators and heat sinks of all kinds. Protective Packaging Option This option protects your items from shipping damage using a cardboard tube mailer. The cost of using this option is an extra $7.50 per order. Purchase quantities of 4 or more items do not need this option as the strength becomes so much more its very rare they get damaged. We must charge this much to cover our costs because the weight of the cardboard tube raises the weight of the order enough that we are required to use the more expensive priority or parcel rates. How to Help Us Lower Prices Purchase/Shipping quantities are the single biggest thing you can do to help lower the cost. Quantities of 1, 2 or 3, depending on size, can be mailed Letter Rate, but after that it becomes too heavy and we must switch to Parcel or Priority rates which are a lot higher, until the order quantity gets up to 8-10 or more. After that it becomes cheap again. We often lose money on order quantities of 4, 5, 6, and 7. If we get most of our orders in the right quantities we will be able to keep our prices as low as possible. Also, calling in orders of 12 or more is a great way to lower your price. Questions and Answers: Q. Some of your product descriptions for 1/16 metal says it is less than 1/16th of an inch thick, how much less is it? A. The actual thickness is .050in and 1/16th of an inch is .0625in. The difference adds up to about the thickness of 5 to 6 sheets of paper. Q. Are they straight? A. They are very straight with straightness comparable to a sheet of glass. Q. Is this anodized aluminum? A.
