APPLIKON INSTRUMENTS ADI 1030 REACTOR BIO-CONTROLLER This listing is for a bio-reactor control unit. Make: Applikon Instruments Model/ Part#: ADI-1030-S (ADI1030-S) (ADI-1030S) (ADI1030S) Nbr.: P18853/50 U: 220-240/ 110-120Vac 50/60 Hz P: 30VA Description: Bio-Controller for Fermenter System; Bioreactor System Controller Includes all/only items pictured. Here is some information from the manufacturer... The user-friendly ADI 1030 Bio Controller offers accurate process control for a wide choice of parameters and a variety of advanced control strategies. The ADI 1030 Bio Controller is specially designed for process control in bioreactors where the available bench space is limited and flexibility is required. For communication with a computer, the ADI 1030 Bio Controller is equipped with several interfaces, even allowing the system to operate in a network. The user can change the control strategies as the process requirements are changing. Sensor input boards can easily be exchanged with other sensor inputs. The Bio Controller can accommodate up to four sensor inputs. This allows a user specific set-up of the instrument. The sensor boards that are installed can be any combination of the following boards: pH temperature DO2 (polarographic) Foam CO2 MV/Redox Isolated mV/mA The eleven controller outputs consist of nine solid state relays and two analog outputs. The solid state relays can be used to switch pumps, valves, heaters etc. The analog outputs can be used to control variable speed pumps mass flow controllers, stirrer speed controllers or to transmit data to recorders. The input of the controller can be connected to any of the eleven outputs by means of a internal software link. This is an advantage over conventional controllers where inputs are fixed to outputs, allowing no changes afterwards. With the Bio Controller you can control pH in one experiment with an on/off acid and/or alkali pump while during the next experiment pH can be controlled with a variable speed pump and a CO2 mass flow controller using analog outputs. This is simply done by using the function keys of the ADI 1030 to map the input to one or more controller outputs. Control software highlights of the ADI 1030 Bio Controller include: P.I.D. control for all sensor inputs (except foam), Cascading of analog and solid state relay outputs for every sensor input, High and low alarm limits setting (and switching) for every sensor input, Defective sensor protection switches control loops of in the case of faulty sensors, Freeze option to set outputs to a pre-defined status at any moment, Temperature correction for a measured pH value, Time based additions for nutrients and/or anti-foaming agent, Timer outputs, The output cascade enables the user to control one parameter input with a maximum of four separate actuators. With the timer function one can define a delay-time, an ?on?-time and an ?off?-time for each digital output. In addition to the eleven controller outputs, the ADI 1030 Bio Controller is equipped with a bi-directional serial communication port. This port can be used to connect a computer to exchange data with the controller. Three serial communication outputs are available: RS232, for one Bio Controller and one computer, RS422, multidrop, for a maximum of ten Bio Controllers and one computer, RS485, for a maximum of 32 devices which can be Bio Controllers and/or computers. Through these interfaces all data in the BioController can be read and set by a computer. This can either be done directly via the keyboard or via computer calculations (e.g. ramping of setpoints). For supervisory control and data acquisition Applikon offers BioXpert software for Windows 95/98 and NT.
