This is a lens assembly for a scintillation detector probe that used two APD detectors. The unit has two extreme short focal length lenses that APD's were mounted near. The lenses allowed the unit to utilize inexpensive small and fast APD detectors instead of large slow detectors. Inside it had a small rod of scintillator material with a helix of teflon flow tubing wrapped around it. It was used for monitoring ground water for Cesium 127 and other nuclear contamination. The lens assemblies are easily removed for use in other projects, and they collimate point source lights like fiber optics or laser diodes very well. The lenses are optimized for blue light. This item is pretty hard to find I have lots of lasers and other unique stuff for sale this week.
