From my personal collection, here is a mutual conductance tester you can be proud of and count on for decades to come, a beautiful refubished restored and calibrated B&K 747. This one is originally from State of Connecticut, Dept of Education and has clearly not seen much use. Very well kept and super clean, no rust nor corrosion to be seen. Last of the 747 testers, late production date on this one is July 1982 (as seen in the closeup.) This 747 was very recently fully calibrated (adjusted according to B&K procedures - shorts detection threshold, leakage circuit, and grid emmision circuit.) Then checked and/or adjusted for correct signal voltage, DC bias & balance, DC plate voltage & DC screen voltage - again according to B&K procedures.) Importantly, the electrolytic caps were all replaced with USA manufacture Illinois caps. This will assure the new owner of stability for decades. Resistors were also checked and/or replaced for correct values. This 747 does not need to be 12AX7 modified, test results read full scale on the meter now. Uses test buttons 1 and 2 to check both triodes so no need to reset any switches to read the other triode within. Try that with your Hickok, no can do. Automatic line adjust circuitry too, no more line adjusting for each tube type. Truely exhibits ease of use when testing many various tubes at one sitting. Photos are not generic 747 pictures, as you can tell, and the winner will receive the exact beautiful unit pictured. This 747 is not for the average bench, rather for the discriminating buyer who wants beauty, dependability, and accuracy all wrapped into one premium tester. Time was spent carefully cleaning and polishing the tester face plate, not that it needed it much. The excellent condition outer case was also gently cleaned. Check the pictures for shine and reflection. Lid hinges & latches work smoothly and solidly, 100% good. Original set up chart is in the lid - nice. I will also email the winner a pdf file of the original 747 operating manual. Will test 6LQ6 6JE6C 6LB6 and other novar nine pin types ... as well as all your octals and loctals, 7 & 9 pin preamp, and even 12 pin tubes. Top grade calibrated tester ready to give accurate test results. The B&K 700 series testers have mutual conductance circuitry taken from the pricier Hickoks. The B&Ks relative 0 - 120 scale test results are as accurate as the Hickok, and in fact will read 80% while the HIckok reads 800 with 1000 new value (80%) or 800 with a 500 minimum good. It all works out the same - 80% of new. Take a close look at this restored, calibrated, clean, late date production machine and bring it home. Winner will be very pleased. Includes the grid/plate cap connector as well of course (not pictured) so you can hook to grid/plate caps. Also includes the $200 worth of installed Pomona USA made socket savers you see in the pics. You can move these to any socket you like or use most, if needed. Check my feedback on the black B&K 700 I restored and sold a couple months ago. He was most pleased with it. Will ship fully insured.
