Brown & Sharpe #2a Universal milling machine with a Bridgeport J head. This mill is ca. 1953 based on the catalog sheet shown above. The Bridgeport head is a step pulley J head type wired for 220 volt 3 phase, the spindle accepts R-8 collets. The B&S mill is set up to operate on 440 volt 3 phase, has a #50 taper in the horizontal spindle. The horizontal spindle motor has been electrically disconnected (wire removed from contactor) since the horiz. spindle was not need for our work. The Horizontal spindle did run prior to being disconnected. Mill has coolant pump, R-8 collets, overarm bearing supports, one horizontal arbor, and a vise. Milling machine will be loaded on your flat bed truck or trailer at no charge, with overhead crane. Loading into van or box type truck will require additional arrangements and require additional charges. Location is within 1 hour of Birmingham, Al., 35987 is zip code.
