Used in the Beckman Coulter Microfuge® 22R and discontinued Microfuge® R centrifuges, the rotor can centrifuge up to twenty-four 1.5 to 2.0-mL reaction- vials, as well as 250 to 750-? L vials. This rotor develops centrifugal forces that can efficiently pellet subcellular organelles, viruses, bacteria, mitochondria, chloroplasts, or algae. The rotor is made of aluminum and is black-anodized for corrosion resistance. Two lids are available: a screw-on lid (365629), made of transparent, high-impact plastic, ships with the rotor. A transparent polyphenylsufone snap-on lid (369549) is available for separate purchase. The snap-on lid provides a convenient method of quickly closing and opening rotors for sample loading and removal. The F241.5 rotor, with lid 365629, was tested to demonstrate containment of microbiological aerosols under normal operating conditions of the associated Beckman Coulter centrifuge, when used and maintained as instructed. **Photos of this item are of the actual item being sold.
