Bicron NaI(Tl) Wide Field Collimator This is a refurbished Saint-Gobain Bicron thalium-doped sodium iodide detector designed for use as an active collimator in a gamma telescope. This assembly consists of 4 individual crystals wrapped around an octagonal aperture, the inside surface of which is a thin aluminum window. The aperture is surrounded by approximately 4 inches of scintillator in the radial direction and 5 inches axially. Ten 3 inch diameter photomultiplier windows are situated around the circumference of the assembly. The crystals in this detector are oddly shaped and exhibit slight yellowing from hydration, so this assembly is not recommended for spectroscopy. Applications Active collimator for gamma telescope Anti-coincidence annulus Compton suppression Active shielding Veto shielding Large volume detector for arial surveying Refurbishment Purged with inert gas and evacuated Helium leak tested Tested with Cs-137 source Calculate Freight Specifications Thickness 6.5 in Width 23.5 in Length 29.0 Inspection by a Hofstra Group technician allows us to guarantee this hardware to perform to your satisfaction.
