This digital display unit has an adjustable shaking speed of 2,500, 4,200, 4,600 and 4,800 oscillations/minute, and comes with a 0 to 5 minute auto-reset timer for controlled operation. It can hold a single 2.0mL, non-skirted, sharp conical-shaped microvial with up to 400mg of wet weight (vial sold separately). The vial is held in a near horizontal orientation and shakes in a compressed figure-eight pattern for efficient homogenization. This benchtop homogenizer is sealed to prevent sample leakage, and is suitable for single-sample use homogenization processes such as polymerase chain reaction (PCR) applications, especially when used with a disposable vial and beads (both sold separately) to prevent cross-contamination.
