These isolation transformers are used to power 120 Volt devices up to 150 Watts. The unit is powered by a standard wall plug, and provides power through a receptacle on the face-plate. Then end device will be powered but isolated from the AC power neutral line. This is ideal for removing ground loops that can cause damage or adversely affect device function. A common use for these units is isolating computers so they can be connected via USB to some other device that is powered from a wall outlet. This eliminates the ground loop that can cause damage and heat to electronics. These units are also used in electronics labs to isolate the device being measured so the scope ground can be connected directly to the device. These units contain an overload breaker for extra safety that can be easily reset on the front panel .
