This chain breaker and riveting set is perfect for smaller chain bikes. It's a useful tool that allows you to break and rejoin most types of chains effortlessly. It's suitable for most sizes of drive or cam chain from 35 to 630. The kit comes supplied with 4 pins ranging from 2.2mm to 3.8mm, press plates, anvils, and a high-quality chain press. When tightening the push bolt against the chain link pin, if you don't 'feel the tip going down smoothly, check that the tip is correctly lined up against the link pin. If not, redo step 3. This tool may be used for breaking all sizes chain from number 35 to 630 but is not recommended for cutting heavy-duty type of 530 or 630 chains unless the rivet head is ground off first. For breaking the chain (pressing out link pin), assemble the tool as shown in the diagram (anvil not used). Select the correct size tip for the chain to be worked on and insert it into the tool alignment bolt. Remove push bolt, insert pin, with spring under the head of pin, and replace push bolt. Do not use the smallest 2.2 mm tip without the upper and lower guides to prevent breaking the tip. For installing the chain link pin (Riveting), the rivet tip and anvil must be in place in the tool. Assemble the chain with the link to be riveted; special rivet link pins must This kit is cost-effective and will pay for itself in no time. The amount of money you pay at the garage will come to the cost of the whole kit, so why not buy the whole kit and have the use of it again and again. The pins sizes are 2.2, 2.9, and 3.8mm. Also included are a pin guide, anvil, spring, press plate, lever, handle, and chain press. However, if you're working on a cam chain, be sure to cover the chain tunnel with a rag to prevent parts from dropping down. Put the tool over the chain; the tool tip must withdraw at least 2 mm into the alignment bolt. Tighten the alignment bolt securely against the chain. Tighten the push bolt with a 14 mm wrench or lever until the chain pin is pushed entirely out, and the chain pin will drop out of the hole in the bottom of the tool.
