Vintage and Hard to Find! Chicago Hardware Foundry Company Wood Seat / Stool Spring Load, Fold Down Cast Iron, Stationary Floor Mount For Sale! VINTAGE Rare and Hard to Find ~1900-1950s~ from CHICAGO HARDWARE FOUNDRY COMPANY North Chicago, Ill., USA STATIONARY STOOL / SEAT The Round Wooden Seat is Solid Maple The Rest is Cast Iron. The Seat is attached to a Spring Loaded Drop-Down Hinge The Cast Iron Pedestal is made to be Floor-Mounted. The Seat when lowered is 19-1/2" off the ground. The Round Wooden Seat is 10" across. The Seat When Released stands 30" Tall. The Cast Iron Pedestal is 20" tall. The Flat floor mount is 5" x 6-1/2" The Stool weighs about 8 lbs. This is an old piece, in perfect condition and very strong. It would be great in any workshop where a fixed seat is needed with minimal space. We believe that the Stool was original made for either a Telephone Booth or an Elevator Cab. *********************** Condition Pre-Owned, Vintage and Used. The Solid Maple Seat would be lovely refinished. There is a bit of surface rust that needs to be sanded off of the floor mount. The Hinge and the Pedestal are in very good condition.
