This was the top of the line from Wetzlar......the famous Orthoplan with widefield (up to 28mm FOV index) was the ideal research upright microscope that could be used for both life science and industrial microscopy. This one is unique in that it has a very rare CAMERA LUCIDA DRAWING ATTACHMENT made for this model. The selling price of the drawing device alone was higher than our opening bid for the entire instrument. Here is your chance to get a classic Leitz microscope that you can expand for many years to come. Leitz probably has the largest number of accessory items on ebay to function with this model. I have also included a Zernike 402a phase contrast condenser. You can also do brightfield as well as darkfield with objectives 10x-40x dry. Quintuple ball bearing nosepiece includes a 4x achromat, 10x PHACO and 40x PHACO set. Any older RMS 160/170 (45mm mechanical length) objective will work on this scope. Only Leitz PHACO phase objectives will match up to the phase rings in the condenser. Operate the camera lucida either on the LEFT or RIGHT (as shown)......we know that many creative humans are "south paws"!...simply rotate the lucida 180 degrees on the bayonet changer. Easily removed when not in use....it does have a 1.25x mag factor. A modern (Leitz lamp #105) 12V100w halogen lamp is included along with a USA 12V power supply and three spare 100w halogen bulbs. Includes dust cover, blue filter, green filter, instructions for the scope and phase kit. FSA trinocular body tube with 100 or 75/25% prism split. Usual Leitz 38mm open vertical camera port to add your DSLR or MILC of choice with suitable coupler. Draw and view on your computer screen at the same time! This is for the person who wants to draw insect details or diatoms. The phase contrast will add detail for low contrast or living samples....aquatics, botanicals etc. Expand the system....I will include a price list from the 1970's showing all of the part numbers that were available at that time. Upgrade to DIC, epifluorescence, metallurgy/materials, polarized light etc etc. S/N 792406 with large Orthoplan X/Y mechanical stage and coaxial right hand control knobs.
