The shank diameter is the same as the drill size. The 2075N series performs best when drilling into stainless steel, tool steel, low/med/high carbon steel, cast iron, aluminum, brass, plastic, and nickel alloys. TiN is a ceramic coating that combines hardness and low friction to extend cutting tool life and permits faster cutting speeds than with uncoated tools. Spiral flutes act as a passageway for chip extraction from the hole and for coolant to enter the hole. The twist of the flutes brings chips up and away from the cutting edge. The parabolic design allows for smooth and efficient chip, also called swarf evacuation. The higher, also called faster helix provides greater lifting power for chips and works well in deeper holes.
