Though fully functional, this item has considerable wear and tear, so please be sure to read the entire description before bidding! Laser level not included! This is a black builder's level tripod adapter. It is a rotating platform that is to be attached to a tripod, and it has a channel into which another tool such as a laser level may be placed. It is about 4 inches in diameter excluding the knobs, 3 1/2 inches tall, and weighs a little over a pound and a half. The leveling part works normally. There are three hand-turned knobs on the bottom tier. After attaching the item to a level tripod, one adjusts these knobs as needed to make the turntable exactly level. There is a small round bubble level visible on the left side of the first picture that shows when the turntable is exactly level. On the top tier, the base marked in 360 degrees, in 1-degree increments. The turntable rotates freely. A single hashmark on the turntable lines up with the markings on the base. To lock the base, the small knob near the bubble level can be tightened. This knob is visible on the left side of the first picture, or the lower right side of the third picture. On the very top is the place where one would put a laser level. It fits in the channel and the gripper knob is adjusted to hold it in place. This knob is visible on the right side of the first picture, or the upper left side of the third picture. The actual plastic gripper that came with this item broke off at some point, so I have made a replacement out of plywood and a piece of aluminum flashing, retaining the original knob and screw (see second picture). Though slightly thicker than the original gripper, this still leaves a channel 7/8 inches wide (see sixth picture). This is wide enough to accommodate a typical laser level (see fourth and fifth pictures). Note: The laser level is not included with this item - I took those pictures only to demonstrate what the tool can hold! After placing the laser level, the fine level adjustment knob, next to the bubble level (center-bottom of first picture), can be adjusted to make sure the laser level is longitudinally level inside the channel. (Most laser levels have a bubble level attached for this reason.) This knob is cracked on the inside and can be pulled off easily, but it works. If shaken, the item will rattle, as if there is a small piece of debris inside it. I don't know what that debris could be, but it does not affect operation of the item. Despite its flaws, the level is fully functional. The four-page instruction manual is included. Be sure to check out my other auctions!
Condition Used :
An item that has been used previously. The item may have some signs of cosmetic wear, but is fully operational and functions as intended. This item may be a floor model or store return that has been used. See the seller’s listing for full details and description of any imperfections.
Seller Notes Adjustable gripper is missing. I have added a homemade replacement made from plywood. The fine leveling knob is cracked and comes off easily, but it functions. It rattles for an unknown reason when shaken. It is fully functional despite these defects. See description for details
