The Delavan PowerFLO 5850-201E is an electric 12 VDC diaphragm pump that comes with a pressure demand switch which only operates when liquid flow is required. The job of the pressure demand switch is to basically eliminate the need for a pressure regulator. It will automatically turn the pump on as soon as line pressure drops, and when the line pressure increases, the demand switch automatically turns the pump off. All demand pumps require a balanced flow, so if the nozzle being used is too small, it can restrict the flow, resulting in the demand pump shutting off. PowerFLO 5800 Series Diaphragm Pumps from Delavan are designed for tough tasks and long life. They are very popular for low pressure fluid transfer, carpet cleaning, and agricultural spraying applications. These pumps can easily handle the pumping of a variety of agricultural chemicals, including water, herbicides, pesticides, liquid fertilizers, de-icing materials, and other fluids. The 12-Volt motor is a permanent magnet, totally enclosed, non-ventilated motor. The motor does not have thermal protection, so for user safety, maximum performance, and maximum motor life, the surface temperature of the motor should not surpass 180 degrees Fahrenheit.
