We will ship only to a Paypal Confirmed address. This auction is for one very hard-to-find Derbyshire Mass. USA Micromill Precision Milling machine, grinder and gear cutting machine. This beautiful diminuitive tool features a ball bearing headstock that according to the manufacturer can run up to 20000 rpm for grinding and slower for milling. This particular machine features balanced crank ball handles for both the x and y movement for precision table adjustment with large micrometer dials. The milling spindle has both a lever adjustment as well as a knurled knob with micrometer type dial. The spindle accepts standard 10mm collets and arbors ( none included) . The milling machine is mounted to the optional manufacturer cast iron coolant tray with coolant pump. The pump has not been used for decades and appears to be stuck. The rubber pulley on the machine has also degraded. There is oxidation/rust in the coolant tank.The coolant tray makes a great base for the machine , it keeps it stable and vibration free. This particular machine is unusual in that it was ordered with a 12" table length; they are usually much shorter. The table also has the same profile as the derbyshire Magnus Watchmakers lathe bed. This is particularily useful because a Derbyshire Magnus lathe headstock and tailstock is included and clamp directly to the table. The headstock is fitted with the unusual and VERY hard to find indexing attachment complete with 13 indexing plates in Cast Iron and brass. Several of the plates are missing the screw to hold them to the lathe spindle. Some are also a tiny bit loose on the spindle but this in no way affects use as far as I can tell. The spring on the indexing attachment is a little loose and may need some adjustment but does work well and holds the indexing lever into the plate well. Both the lathe headstock and the milling spindle accept 10 mm collets. The tailstock moves smoothly on the bed and locks securely. The tailstock spindle appears to be fixed in the casting. To operate the tailstock must be slid forward and back. The headstock and tailstock can be removed and a vise can be mounted on the table. No vise is included. This machine is a must for gear cutting as the workpiece can be machined between centers on a watchmakers lathe then mounted between centers on the milling table and further machined using the indexing plates and milling spindle. A very rare combination. The following plates are included 12,50,63,60, 68,70,72,80,81,84,90,100,108. I have tried very hard to describe any flaws in the machine. The machine is overall very beautiful though with a nice black crackle finish, with a little cleaning, adjustment and lubrication that you will have a very fine and rare machine complete with accesories that are almost never found! The machine will be shipped in a large heavy wooden crate for safe transport. Base measures approximately 12" x 16" and is approximately 16" tall. The tank of the coolant pump has some rust in it. The unit appears to be in good used mechanical condition as far as i can tell with my very un-expert eyes. Please look carefully what you see is what you get.”
