Dumore series 5 Tool Post grinder for 9" to 20" swing lathes. Compatible with Series 57 systems. Model 8534 1/2 HP universal motor, which can run on DC or AC up to 120V. Motor armature and stator are wound so motor will always spin the same direction, independent of the polarity of the applied voltage. (I have tried 24V DC and 120V AC) This 15,000 RPM motor, with large and small pulleys, can turn the spindle from 4600 RPM to 42,500 RPM. Complete working system in good condition. Good information can be found on the Dumore factory web site, including an electronic copy of a modern Operating Instructions, which is still useful for this older system. Notes on this grinding system: The spindle is a "Type T" insert spindle, which is a predecessor to the 5T-200. I accepts any of the Series 57 spindle inserts. Good bearings. A complete set of Dumore spindle inserts are included: TX (external), TC (collet), TN 1 5/8, TN-3, TN-4, TN-5, TN-6. (Over $1200 new for the inserts alone!) Between all the spindles, grind wheel shaft diameters of 1/8", 1/4", 3/8" can be used, plus mounted wheels of 1/8" and 1/4", and to a depth of 6". The TX external spindle insert can support grind wheels up to 5" in diameter and 1/2" wide. I've bench run the motor and spindle for about and hour, with no issues. Includes the grind wheels shown in the pictures. The 4" and 5" wheels have 1/2" holes with a sleeve added to allow use with the TX spindle insert. High quality copy of owners manual of similar (but not exact) vintage included, printed on heavy weight paper and spiral bound. Factory Dumore tools and extra motor filters are included. Shipping by FedEx ground. $50 covers most locations in the USA. If you are closer and shipping costs less, I'll refund the difference.
