DUST CONTROL CONVERSION KIT FOR 18" to 20" ROTARY SANDERS The dust skirt greatly improves the effectiveness of the machine's dust removal, by containing the sanding particles under the machine and by improving the suction. It has a quick-release clamp, so it is easy to put on and remove--and takes only a few seconds to tighten with a straight-blade screwdriver--or even a coin. NOTE! The machine in the photos above is an RS-16. The third photo above shows an RS-16 with a 16 1/2" diameter showing on the tape measure. This photo is to illustrate measuring ONLY. The skirt in this listing will NOT fit an RS-16 or similar size machine. To measure, see the third photo above. Measure the total outside diameter. This skirt will fit a diameter of 17 1/2 to 20 inches. Fits most makes and models with the correct diameter. Does not fit the FM series (FM 2000, etc) because there is nowhere to drill a hole for the adapter. Use this kit to easily convert your buffer/polisher/sander to a dust control version, at a price much lower than any other kit out there! Clarke's conversion kit, for example, is $263.00 (part number 56382844). The kit includes an 18-20" dust skirt, the special adapter (produced by Tornado Alley Tools), and a hose adapter for 1 1/2" or 2" vacuum hoses. The only special tool you will need is a 1 5/8" metal cutting hole saw. (A 1 3/4" will also work if you happen to already have one.) These are available at any hardware or home center for under $20, including the arbor. To install, refer to the photos above: Choose a location for installation. You'll need at least 2 1/4" for clearance Check the back side, making sure there are no obstructions Drill the hole Screw in the adapter.
