You are considering an ELB Surface Grinder. This grinder is used, but seems to be in good overall condition. The body of the machine is dirty and shows normal wear, scratches, etc. from use and being transported. We have tested the machine to the extent of our knowledge and it seems to operate as it should. However, we are not machinist or familiar with running this type machine. The grinding wheel turns fine under power with no excess noise that would indicate bearing problems. The power Up/Down on the head works fine. The manual turn-wheels that control the up/down of the head, the back/forth of the table and the front to back motion of the machine all seem to work fine. The automatic hydraulic back/forth action of the table works fine and the magnetic base seems to work as it should. Beyond this, we are not sure how to operate the machine. Judging by the extra buttons and knobs on the control panel, we assume that this machine has an automatic function that makes it travel front to back during grinding and possibly incrementally lowers the grinding wheel as it works, but we do not know how to engage or set the machine to do these functions. This is only a "guess" at what the buttons do. Any automatic function the machine may or may not have is untested and the machine is being sold AS IS. The previous owner is a manufacturing facility that has recently revamped their operation. This grinder was no longer needed for their process.
