EXTREME DUTY Weigh Beam Cattle Hog Pig Cow Livestock Chute Scale Weighbeam EXTREME DUTY WEIGH BARS Our Extreme Duty Weighbar scale is the most popular scale that we build, and we've been building it right here in New Mexico, USA for almost 10 years. If you take a look on eBay or other online marketplaces, you'll see all kinds of similar scales ranging in price from $450.00 to $1200.00 and more. Most of these are manufactured in pre-set sizes in China and shipped to eBay sellers who know little or nothing about them. You'll frequently see them in 24", 40" and 48" widths and either 5,000lb or 10,000lb capacity, with undersized load cells and a cheap floor scale indicator. Ours are different. First and foremost, we use a 5,000lb Large Envelope load cell. This load cell is almost twice the size of that used in any other weighbar out there. This is important -- especially if you are putting this scale under your squeeze chute. Think about it: when an animal loads into a squeeze chute, they are attempting to run through the chute. They have not yet figured out that the head gate is going to suddenly close and violently stop them. When the animal hits the headgate, it puts a tremendous amount of side load on the squeeze chute and, therefore, the scale. We use a load cell that is able to withstand this. In addition to the massive load cells, this scale includes: All NTEP certified components. A Digital Indicator that you can actually read in the sunlight, with a backlit LCD Display! Motion Filtering and Averaging, plus peak, tare and auto-zero Battery Operated or A/C -- with Rechargeable Battery In addition, we custom build every set of bars that we make. If your chute is 38" at the headgate and 42" at the entrance, that's what we'll build. This is important because when you're working your animals, you're looking up at the chute controls or into the chute, at the animal. You're NOT looking down, and the last thing you need is a four-inch steel bar protruding from the bottom of the chute. Finally, we offer you your choice of bolt-down or rubber feet. A lot of folks like to bolt the scale to their concrete pad so that the chute doesn't "walk" when your animal loads. The large load cells that we use allow you to bolt the entire scale to your pad without worrying about damaging the scale. IMPORTANT: We are going to build this scale specifically to your requirements. When you purchase this scale, please let us know what length beams you would like (up to 48"), what kind of feet (Steel or neoprene) and what color. We can paint it any color you'd like -- the most common are Preifert Blue and Powder River Green.
