Brand new in original factory sealed box. This is a General Radio W20HMT3A Variac. Their top model in this style Variac / power supply.  Made in the USA back in the day when heavy gauge steel was used for cases and only the highest quality components went inside.  0-280 volts @ 0-8 Amps.  General Radio made the best Variac’s in their day.  It’s extremely rare to find one of these brand new in it’s factory box and never opened.  Has quality, dual Simpson Brand, Volt and Amp meters.  Guaranteed not to be DOA.  I have several of these, all in sealed boxes except for the one I opened to take pictures and test.  The one I’m selling you will be unopened so as you can be the first to open it and smell the air from this era.   The input is 240 Volts, 50/60 Hz, but can easily be changed to 120 Volt by simply changing the line plug.  It will then be a 0-140 Volt Variac.  This is government surplus, been sitting around in a dry warehouse somewhere since the 70's.  A great test bench tool for anyone who works with electronic devices, or musicians looking for that perfect sound in their tube amplifiers, or anyone wanting to control the power input on any electrical device.  This is a heavy unit, weighs approx 25 lbs., and is approx 12" high by 8" wide.  Includes a spare set of brushes and a military Technical Manual.  Call me if you have any questions or are interested in buying a greater quantity.  626-688-0096  Free Shipping to lower 48 states
