The unique design of this system allows for milk to cool during the milking process. Bacteria can double every 20 minutes, especially during warm weather. Dropping the temperature of your milk as soon as possible will help retain it's freshness. When used properly, the opportunity for flies, dust, and other debris to contaminate your milk is also reduced. The 6 quart stainless steel liner will hold 5 quarts of milk, perfect for the home dairy that milks one or two goats. As an alternative to hand milking for individuals with arthritis or sore hands, or for those who find hand milking a difficult task, this milker is also lightweight, easy to clean, and operates on the push of a button. A goat producing 2 quarts will generally milk out in 3 minutes. The bucket assembly includes the stainless steel liner, a two gallon food grade plastic bucket and lid with fittings (the bucket and or lid may be recycled). The system also includes FDA approved tubing (NSF-51), a "Y" connector, two teat shells, and two clamps. The pump unit consists of a DC powered vacuum pump that runs off a 12 volt battery (12 amps or more is recommended), a vacuum relief valve (brass fitting adjusts and limits vacuum), vacuum gauge, on/off switch (toggle switch), vacuum tubing with vacuum canister/moisture trap, and power cord with alligator clips. Instructions and a parts list are included. ( A 10" x 10" x 10 1/2" H freezer space is required to store the bucket unit between milkings.) The battery is not included.
