You are bidding on a very nice running, rare size, 2 1/2hp Detroit upright 2 cycle farm engine. This engine is in nice shape, and starts right up and runs strong. It is mounted on the original skids. It has a VERY well built cooling tank with gas tank underneath, if you had to build that cooling tank it would cost you quite a lot. Whoever built the gas tank and cooling tank was very skilled. This engine has NO cracks, breaks or welds. The checkvalve has a small bit of solder on it, but that is only the checkvalve, and can be replaced, even though it works fine, I personally would leave it alone. Water jacket is perfect, no cracks or issues at all, which is very rare for these engines. Engine starts very easily. It has the correct belt pulley. Carburetor and air valve are both is excellent condition. Flywheels run true, with no issues. Compression is pretty good. Advance/retard lever works great, and you can idle this engine right down where to probably 100 rpm! You hardly ever see these engines for sale, and almost never see them running at shows. This one is show ready, add gas, oil, water for the tank, and hit the road!!!  I'm ONLY selling this to fund another project. I can deliver this engine for $40 to Portland, IN or Coolspring, PA shows and swap events this year. I can also bolt to a pallet and deliver for $40 to Fastenal for shipping. Shipping on this should be very reasonable. I can also deliver for $75, anywhere in Ohio, Kentucky, or Tennessee sometime within the next two months. You can also pick it up here free, we are 100 miles north of Detroit.
