VERY NICE ! Hickok 800a tester - Calibrated - Plate Current Mod - QuickCal Mod The Meter is face bright and the plastic cover is clear. Case is in good condition with minimal signs of wear. Its very rare to find one in this nice condition. (please see photos) The tester has been modified to test Plate Current using the diode test points just under the meter. Instructions on how this works included. It is important to test idle current when matching power tubes. This tester had the line calibration adjustment pot stock so there was no need to add one. This tester has been modified so that the clunky adjustment rig R15 for bias and reduced screen voltage can be quickly and easily set. The 83 tube has been replaced with a Solid State Regulated unit for long life and stability. The 800a Model has the additional sockets for compactrons and will test a full compliment of tube types. Unlike some other Hickok models the 800 series will also test for leakage which is most important in power tubes. Calibration results - Plate Voltage = 150.1 (150v +/- 2V ) Screen Voltage = 134.5 (130 +/- 5V ) Reduced Screen = 56.4 ( 56V +/- 2V) Bias -39.5 ( -40 +/- 2V ) Bias @22 = -3.0 ( -3.0 +/- .2 ) Leakage test= pass Filament 6.6 (6.3) 12.7 (12.6) (+/- 10%) AC Signal= 2.48V (2.5V +/- .2V) Very good results overall and reads the 6L6 calibration tube right where it should. The roll chart turns and is dated Fall 71, but I have also included all documentation and test data (including some error fixes) that I have for this model on CD so you don't need to use the roll chart, and can preserve it. I have extensive test data for the 800 series Including hard to find Western Electric Data for tubes like the 300b.
