Can be used for normal transfer but with the new split leg design for lithotomy procedures if needed. Comes with the Hovertech pump, connecting hose, full size split leg mattress and power cord. It is ready to use as soon as you receive it. This is a portable device that can be transported easily. The pump has a bed rail hanger and carry handle. The connecting hose can be connected on either corner of the matress head end. Intended to leave under the patient and only inflated when the patient is to be moved. Both sides have heavy duty transfer handles and there are two adjustable patient restraint straps with snap buckles. I tested the unit out and I could effortlessly move my test subject around the room while they were laying on the mattress. Directions for use are permanantly sewn onto one of the patient restraint straps. The mattress and cover is machine wash with drip or low heat dry. It is radiolucent and artifact free so patients may remain on the HoverMatt mattrress for all ancillary procedures, including Diagnostic Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, MRI or Radiation Therapy. Purpose: Consistent utilization of the HoverMatt dramatically reduces back injuries to staff that are caused by lateral transfers and repositioning. In addition, fewer staff members are required and a very comfortable transfer for the patient is provided. Priciple of operation: After the patient is placed on the HoverMatt transfer mattress, low pressure air from the small air supply will inflate the mattress. At the same time the air is supporting the patient, the air is escaping from the perforations in the underside, and acting as a lubricant to reduce friction, which facilitates effortless transfers. With less force needed to transfer a patient, there is less physical effort and strain expended by caregivers which results in a reduction of workers' comp injuries. The HoverMatt technology requires 90% less force than conventional products currently in use. The HoverMatt Split-Leg Matt is a specialty transfer mattress designed for use in the lithotomy position or on surgical tables when the split-leg plates are employed. The HoverMatt® Split-Leg Matt has a patented design that allows the bottom half of the transfer mattress to be sealed into two individual segments, or "legs." This keeps the HoverMatt from getting in the way during procedures performed in these positions. When the snaps at the foot end of the mattress are fastened, the legs are kept together and lateral transfers can be performed just like with the standard HoverMatt® transfer mattress. The legs can then be separated by unsnapping the fasteners to position the HoverMatt® "legs" with the patients' legs as appropriate to the procedure. CONDITION This lateral transfer system is in excellent cosmetic and tested working condition. There is minimal sign of normal use and no damage. I tested it and it works exactly as designed.
