Huge Ferrite rod assembly 16" Long AM Radio Antenna  LW MF HF Experimenters Permeability 400 Here is a ferrite rod assembly for building AM radio, Longwave, HF or other antennas. Because of its size and all of the ferrite this antenna receives very strong signals Overall size of the antenna is 16" x  5/8" The rod consists of 16" of ferrite in a PVC pipe which is internally glued into a solid assembly.  The outside of the pipe has end caps and is painted with a white hard epoxy paint shell. I have used these assemblies to build stable antennas  down to 24 Khz. 10 Turns of #22 wire will yield 14 uhys of inductance. The antenna in the second photo has approx. 50 turns yielding 380 Uhys. Here is a video demonstarting the use of this antenna rod. Your antenna does not include a coil, that part of the design is up to you. Using a standard 365 PF tuning capacitor the antenna will tune from about 500 KHZ to 1800 KHz  Less turns will take you higher in frequency, more turns will take you lower. 3 are available and I will build more if there is interest.
