DESCRIPTION: These isolation transformers are used to power 120 Volt input to out 120 volts output devices up to 120 Watts, while isolating both hot and neutral. The unit is powered by a standard wall plug, and provides power through a standard power cord. Plug the transformer into the wall and your device into the transformer cord and it will be powered but isolated from the AC power neutral line. This is ideal for removing ground loops that can cause damage or adversely affect device function. A common use for these units is isolating computers so they can be connected via USB to some other device that is powered from a wall outlet. This eliminates the ground loop that can cause damage and heat to electronics. These units are also used in electronics labs to isolate the unit being measured so the scope ground can be connected directly to the device.
