I'm selling my Jet GH-1340A lathe. It is in good shape, with lower use. I purchased it from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. It was used in the engineering lab to build prototype goods for student final projects. The ways are in very good shape with no scoring. The gap bed has never been removed and fits very tight. The gear head sounds good. All gears can be easily shifted in and out of ehen the chuck is rotated (proper way). The cross feed only has .003" of backlash and can be tightened to adjust it to .000" if desired. Motor also has dual windings that add a high and low speed at the flip of a switch. It has a functioning coolant pump, but needs the flexible coolant line flexible end. I have also built a stand that raises the lathe about 4-5" to make it easier to operate. It also allows the lathe to be picked up with a forklift or pallet jack. I don't have a steady rest for this lathe. It is 230v 3 phase power. If you need a lesson on phase converters, let me know and I can tell you what you need to operate this with 230v single phase power. For an additional $65, I can buy and wire in an American Rotary brand digital static phase converter so the unit will take single phase (this will take 2-3 weeks to get the part in and installed). It is under power, so you can see and hear it run of you live close Jet still makes a lathe that is almost identical and sells for $8,700. This is a fraction of the price.
