The biggest advantage of no-clean fluxes is that they do not need to be cleaned off the surface after soldering, so it will not affect electrical conductivity. Kingbo Flux sold by XModdz has a clearish color to it as shown in our videos. If you have flux that is not of clearish color, smokes much more than shown and has a bad stench to it then chances are it is not genuine Kingbo. The only flux we use at XModdz. We use it for reflowing, reballing and cleaning. It is cheaper than Amtech and Kester but works extremely well, it is our hot seller item. We get a lot of inquiries on the best type of flux to use, be it in paste, liquid, or pen form. We always recommend Kingbo flux, it is mainly a tacky paste flux, but it becomes liquid when melted. This is literally the ONLY flux we use. Does not matter if its soldering wires, removing IC chips or BGA reworking Kingbo does the job. BEST part is, this flux remains active to a temperature of 240c which is well beyond solder melting points. If you currently use Kester you may notice that it bubbles and burns off long before 200c, the flux is usually gone at that point. Kingbo flux remains active well past 245c which is when the balls are actually liquefied and this is important as it provides a stronger joint. If you are interested in Amtech or Kester we can get that upon request. However we find no reason to purchase a more expensive item. For an even better site cleaning experience we recommend a Hakko and our newly developed Site cleaning compound. It is truly an amazing combination.
