Knife Making: Belt Sander/Grinder Tracking Wheel Assembly This listing answers certain requests by buyers who want to test their own skills in building the belt sander. This tracking/idle wheel assembly is ready made component and designed to fit over 1-3/4" tubing. You need to position this unit in the right place and tighten two bolts on its bottom. Then hook up the rear tension spring. There may be necessary to add or remove spacer nuts from the wheel shaft. The Idle/Trucking Wheel is 3” OD x 2-1/4” wide (convex for better tracking). It has 1/2” ID sealed bearing pressed into pockets and is precision made of machined aluminum. The arm is made of cold rolled steel 10" long x 2" wide and 1/2" thick. The whole assembly represent the proven design offered by majority of makers. It is highly adaptable and can be successfully used with some other projects. Can be welded as well if required. It may be shipped partially dissembled in order to minimize shipping cost. The wooden structure and the silver tube is displayed only for stabilizing this unit while photographed.  However the square silver tube is 1-3/4" therefore the exact size this unit is build to fit over.
