Shop smart with BlurryRobot!  This interesting item is a rubber graphics plate for mounting on a wooden printing block, to be used in letterpress print processes to print ads, graphics, or packaging.  We think it's for packaging...specifically, for printing the inside of a transparent package, since it's not a reversed image.  If it's not for that, perhaps it was for an indirect process. The plate shows the name of the famous appliance maker MAYTAG.  Since it was not mounted on a wooden block for printing, it's still stuck to a coated backing sheet.  If you want, you might be able to carefully peel the rubber from the backing sheet, and affix it to a wood block of your own.  Be careful!  The rubber is fragile and you could easily tear it in the process.
