 LKB Bromma Rotary One Retracting Microtome With Blades This microtome is a retracting microtome that pulls the blade back in the upstroke and, thereby, makes cleaner, more precise cuts. This microtome is designed to be used with a reusable blade; but can also be used with disposable blades by using an adapter (several are now offered on eBay form other vendors). But whichever type of blade you decide to use with this microtome, it will cut with great precision. This is an extremely stable, well built microtome. IT IS BUILT LIKE A TANK AND IT IS PRICED TO SELL!!! Comparable microtomes from Leica, Shandon, Surgipath, Microm, Olympus, TBS, RMC, etc. weigh from 60 to 70 lbs.  This brute weighs in at 105 lbs. LKB cut no corners when building this microtome.
