A used Laser Technology's MapStar Compass Module II (MSCM II), including HP48GX calculator and bipod legs, in a guaranteed working condition. May need fresh batteries and recalibration.  Description: MSCM II is more than just an electronic compass; it brings a host of new advances to azimuth measurement, also known as directional data in reference to North. This electronic compass works in conjunction with any of our laser rangefinders and is compatible with most field data collection software and GPS systems. The two built-in RS232 serial ports allow the MapStar Compass Module to accept data from the rangefinder and export all necessary position data into a data collector.  You can now collect azimuth measurements with a level of accuracy like no other. Its modular design produces highly accurate results because you can pivot the laser +/- 90 degrees while maintaining the compass sensor head level. Competitors have the limitation where their compass laser really needs to be level within +/- 15 degrees in order to maintain their accuracy specification. Calibration in the field takes less than a minute, with a steady audio tone to guide you as you rotate the compass 360 degrees. This procedure is quite unique because it was designed by our very own engineers, which gives us more control and you more flexibility. This also means we do not rely upon any support from the manufacturer of the compass sensor like other competitors need to. How the MapStar Compass Module II Measures Up: Includes a "Missing Line" feature that automatically calculates the distance between any two remote targets. Allows for you to set specific parameters from your PC and toggle on your personal configuration in the field. Assists in aiming and leveling with the use of audible and visual indicators. Permits easy viewing of all your measurements on the custom backlit LCD display. Offers dual serial ports for communication in from the laser and out to data collectors. Allows you to easily calibrate sensors with on-board routines. Integrates seamlessly with all LTI's laser rangefinders to generate 3D measurements.  Hardware Specifications: Weight: 1.25 lbs (570 g) Size: 12 x 2 x 1 in.
