It was manufactured in June of 1995. Controller= Mazatrol T-plus WHAT IS DIFFERENT ABOUT THIS CNC LATHE AS COMPARED TO OTHER LIVE TOOL LATHES YOU MAY BE LOOKING AT? Comes with C-axis Live Milling and Tool Pre-setter, Chip conveyor. The x axis drive was replaced in October of 2012, I have the receipt (cost= $2625). Brand new MWK Brand 8" 3-jaw hydraulic chuck, model#: ZA6-8-52-27, barely used, still like brand new! The live tool drive train was inspected and rebuilt, as well as any worn parts were replaced. I purchased this machine because a former employee, who knew the mazatrol language, recommended it because of the live tooling/ c axis would be perfect for a particular job that we were doing. We no longer have that job. That employee no longer works here and all other employees are really only comfortable with Fanuc-like controllers. This machine was run very little since it has been on our floor. It may run 0 to 3 days per week. We have had this machine under roof for 4 years. In those 4 years, I had 3 different employees who knew how to program the machine. If you know the language... man is it quick to make a program! I have been told by many people that this machine does not look near its age. I have been told by our Mazak repairman that this is the best condition he has ever seen a machine of this age. This is due to the company that we bought it from had very deep pockets and whenever it needed any type of maintenance or repair, it got it immediately without concern for expense. The machine did not come with a single live tooling holder. So just after I bought it, I had to put out an additional $12,000.00 for brand new Parlec Brand live tooling holders. There are qty (3) H (90°) and qty (3) V (straight). We have not used a single one of the live tool holders for any more than a few hours, so they are basically still brand new. Most of the live tool holders were only used for 15 minutes each. These live tools are not included in with this price. The machine came with some sort of a collet setup, which is also included with the machine. We removed the collet setup and put on brand new MWK Brand 8" 3-jaw hydraulic chuck, model#: ZA6-8-52-27. This is a high quality Japanese chuck... can't remember exact cost but was not cheap either! I contacted a former employee to see if the tailstock was programmable... he said "yes it is" but he never had to use it. I will try and confirm this. This machine runs great! You could eat out of the back electric cabinet. I am very sure that whoever ends up with this machine will be very happy with it. Please come to our shop and see it run for your self. Electrics= 230/460V, 50/60 Hz. The machine came wired for 460V... we easily switched it to 230V because it has a built in transformer in the back of the machine, where you only need to switch a few leads. I was told that this transformer was an add-on when the machine was originally purchased. Comes with coolant system. The machine also comes with a ton of books, including: programming manual, maintenance manual, operating manual (alarm & parameter lists), parameter sheets, turret prints, electrical circuit diagrams.
