A 30 x 60 inch McDowell & Craig steel desk. The desirable two-color paint is original, not re-done. I'm selling the desk for the original owner, who purchased it sometime before 1960. Their family operated a furniture manufacturing business not far from the McDowell factory here in Norwalk, California. The desk remains in very good condition. The drawers slide freely. The steel is not dented. There is some light rust on the removable pencil tray and in a small area inside one of the drawers. One of the drawers has an ink stain inside. The top is pretty clean, with a few marks from a razor blade or knife left from cutting something. The paint is good overall, with some marks and a few places where it's worn from use. I have only wiped the desk down with a damp cloth. Undoubtedly it will clean up some with cleaner or auto polish. I don't know what year the desk was made, however there were some postage stamps stuck under the pencil tray, including the Abraham Lincoln 4 cent stamp shown in the photo that was in circulation in 1955. A classic desk from a local maker. Clean it or restore it, it's a nice piece. Mike
