This is a microwave synthesizer, with power supply and LCD/Keypad controller, complete. It covers 6.080-6.580 GHz in 1 KHz steps. It was used in a DSCS downconverter to cover the 7.25-7.75 GHz band. Since it had IFs of 1.1 GHz and 70 MHz if you add 1170 MHz to the range of the synth, you will see the range of the converter.  It was originally a complete converter, but I needed some parts from it for another job. Made by MITEQ (super high quality stuff, I use it in my day job) for Uncle Sam, it is in a rack box with a power supply (+20 & +5 Volts) easy to regulate down to 12 or 15 VDC to run other devices. It has a complete control system as well and connectors to power other parts. The display reads 7250.000 MHz when LO tuned to 6080.000 MHz, so subtract 1170 from display for actual. This has RS-232 control and it would be possible to tune remotely (I will make the codes and setup available if I can get them). There is also a dual output 5 MHz freq. Ref. distribution amp/splitter in the box.  I thought of possible uses such as use as a source for 24 GHz (X4 to LO input, like the P-COM/Celeritek modules use) to build a synthesized 24 GHz transceiver/converter, if doubled, as source of 12.160-13.160 GHz for sat com bands or to drive 39 GHz P-COM modules as a basis for experiments in that band or at 78 GHz, among others. This is a useful range, even for high side injection to make a 5760 MHz system (432 MHz IF). Because it is a stable, very clean source, it would be useful for DSN work at 8-8.5 GHz if a high first IF around 2 GHz is used (maybe a 2304 converter & a mixer??). Because all you need to do is supply 5 MHz at +3 dBm from a standard, and turn this on, it is a very convienient, precision, extremely clean source for experimenting. It produces +15 dBm at 6.080 Ghz and >+11 dBm at 6.580 GHz so the output is enough to drive mixers and doublers. It works fine and readily locks up to 5 MHz when source attached (Red LED on front for RF LO goes out then). It is built into a 2U (3.5 inch high) 19 inch wide rack box, but could be removed if you really wanted to. If you wanted to build your own equipment, here is an excellent starting point for a variety of projects! You are limited only by your imagination!! Overseas friends! If interested, I can get you a shipping quote when you purchase, but do not pay so I can invoice you.  Costs will probably be around $150-175 for FED-EX, but I will check then as costs always seem to be going up.
