NAPCO 5831 Vacuum Oven For sale- a National Appliance Co. Model 5831 Vacuum Oven. National Appliance at some point altered their name to NAPCO, so I have used that in the title for search purposes, but this one is old enough that it does NOT say NAPCO on it if that makes a difference to you. As NAPCO also makes or made a model 5831 I assume they are the same or at least similar without having the NAPCO product here to compare it to. The main steel box, not including handles and gauges, etc., is 13 inches wide, 15 inches deep, and about 14 3/8 inches high. The interior measures roughly 8x8x12” deep. The oven has been tested to power up, heat up, and the thermostat appears to be functional. Physically as I think you can see in the pictures it is in decent condition but far from pristine. It is missing a bit of the finish on top and still has a radio station sticker on the side that I didn’t bother to try to remove. The interior has some residual paraffin I believe, I will let you clean that off if you are so inclined. The only other thing that I think needs to be noted is that there is no door latch. It had a note taped to it that you closed it with the vacuum. So I guess you would fire up the vacuum pump, close the door, and the vacuum would seal and hold it in place. It has not been tested with a vacuum but the door gasket does look OK. Untested other than as described and NO warranty is offered. However, IF you pay the asking price and find it has a problem you cannot live with within 14 days of receipt you may return it. Returns are ONLY allowed on Buy It Now Purchases. Accepted Best Offers are strictly an as is sale, no returns allowed. Return would be for a refund of the purchase price, not including shipping costs. Just so that we are clear on that, this is an item that has not been thoroughly tested. As such it may work fine or it may have problems, so any purchase entails a certain degree of risk. If you Buy It Now your risk is limited to the shipping costs both ways. If you submit an offer you do so knowing that you cannot return it. In either case it is up to you to decide whether the risk level is acceptable to you, and if not you need to pass on this particular item. I will under NO circumstances ship it UPS, the people there don’t seem to be smart enough to handle a shipment charged to the recipients account, nor do they appear to be smart enough to correct their mistake after the fact.
