Anytime you see my rod stick, I believe it is because I did not have a good ground.  Even on new aluminum you have to grind down, sand or brush down to bare aluminum.  Even new aluminum has a coating on it and you will not get a good ground. I believe a chimpanzee could use this rod. There are 12 rods in this pack. They are all 5/32"". You will need at least 150 amps to strike an arc.  Thicker aluminum will need more amps. A satisfied user says -  "It's a good rod, you have to move fast, It's great for welding aluminum out in the field where you may not have tig available. I use them all the time when I am not in the shop. They make a nice bead once you figure out the rod....." Feedback from satisfied customer: welding rods look great cant wait to use them thanks nice product Item as described .... Fast Shipping The rods were just as advertised COMPLETELY satisfied FAST shipping EXCELLENT communication HIGHLY recommended fast shipping very happy with rods works well thanks Well I am satisfied and your product is great. Works good! GOOD ROD,GOOD SELLER,GREAT COMMUNICATOR The below pictures are pictures of the first aluminum I ever welded with an electric welder. The rod gets good penetration, and does not let the aluminum cave in. The first pictures are of a bracket I made to build a tool post grinder for my lathe.  The weld was a good weld and it was easy even on the very first try. Not only that, my tool post grinder worked admirably also. The above brackets were welded by me. Strictly an amateur. The rod got good penetration.  The weld was a good weld and it was easy even on the very first try. Not only that, my tool post grinder worked admirably also as you can see in the above video. I picked up two pieces of heavy angle aluminum from my local scrap yard, and welded the bracket together to hold my DeWalt grinder in order to build the tool post grinder.  I have built tool post grinders before, but I believe this was the easiest one to build and the least expensive.  I used radiator hose clamps to hold the grinder to the angle bracket that I welded together with this special rod and my DC cracker box welder on reverse polarity.   The radiator clamps do a superb job of holding the grinder securely to the bracket. The rod performed very well.  I am strictly an amateur welder.  Don't know what kind or grade of aluminum this angle is.  Makes no difference to me.  The rod has performed well on all of the aluminum I have tried it on.  In the above video, I am turning down the shank on a 3/4" drill, to 1/2" so I can use it in my 1/2" drill press.  The tool post grinder is performing very well.         The below pieces of aluminum were the first aluminum I ever welded.  I got good penetration.  May not be pretty, but they will never come apart.  They are doing a good job.     The rod did not let the aluminum cave in.   To watch video, click one time on youtube arrow. I picked the above aluminum from the scrap yard.  I am building a small trailer.  The bed is diamond plate picked up from the scrap heap at my local scrap yard.  The tongue was picked up in the same scrap yard. I am not good at welding aluminum, but I am so happy that I can weld it and the aluminum does not cave in.  I get good penetration clear thru the aluminum yet it does not cave.  I feel like I can get get better with a little practice. Even with my ineptness, this little trailer is all one piece of aluminum now. You can weld aluminum with this rod even if you have never welded before, but you do have to use a DC welder.  1 pack contains 12 flux coated rods. This is the only actual aluminum welding rod I see on EBAY.  Amateurs can use this rod.  This is not solder like you see all over EBAY. There is oodles and gobs of rod on ebay that is solder.  Some of them call their rod a welding rod or a brazing rod.  They are not selling welding rod.  They are selling solder. Aluminum melts at about 1200 degrees farenheit.  Using this rod, your aluminum will melt but not fall thru. You do have to use a DC welder. The cracker box welder you see me using is old and is made in China or Taiwan. The aluminum welds easily and does not cave in. If I can weld with this rod, I will guarantee that you can. I am certainly not a good welder.  You can look at my video and see that at a glance. My weld is burned in good.  These two pieces of metal are one piece now. I attempt to make all of my descriptions as accurate as possible.  If I have not fully described this item, you are welcome to ask questions and I will answer promptly.   If you purchase a pack of rod, and you are not pleased in every way, you may send the unused portion back to me and I will cordially refund your purchase price, plus what you paid me for postage.
