The item is new. This gripper is much heavier/sturdy built than any of the others I have seen. I am not an expert, but think it is used for transporting marble slabs. It could easily handle sheet rock, metal beams, or more than one sheet of plywood. The clamp adjust as small as 0” up to ~1 1/2” thick. I wish I could tell you more such as weight loads, but I don’t know. I would gander a guess it could handle more than anyone could lift. Please see pictures. I included a quarter for (1”) size reference. The plates are about 5” wide and 4” deep. If anyone is more knowledgeable, I welcome information.  I normally offer full refunds for any reason. But, this thing is bulky and shipping is getting high. I can’t see this being faulty, but if you’re unhappy, I’ll still refund it if you ship it back.
