Nokia 5110 LCD Module 3-5V Operation 1.6" LCD Nokia 5110 Module - 1.6" - 3-5V Operation Description: This is a 84x48 pixel monochrome LCD display. These displays are small, only about 1.6" diagonal, but very readable. This display is made of 84x48 individual pixels, so you can use it for graphics, text or bitmaps. These displays are inexpensive, easy to use, require only a few digital I/O pins and are fairly low power as well. This version works with 3-5V supplies (unlike most). To drive the display, you will need 3 to 5 digital output pins (depending on whether you want to manually control the chip select and reset lines). Another pin can be used to control (via on/off or PWM) the backlight - the backlight LEDs are wired to a transistor. There are several libraries for the Nokia 5110 for use with Arduino. Some of the nicest have been developed by Henning Karlson. This can be used to display text: LCD5110_Basic.zip This one can be used for graphics: LCD5110_Graph.zip Both libraries contain sample sketches and pin connections.
