This is Lee Valley Tools product #08M21.03. It's an 8" x 1" 120 grit cool grinding wheel. It's made with a soft grade H bond and an open structure to cut quickly, but far cooler than ordinary grinding wheels. Quoting from Lee Valley's catalog, "There's no reason to ever "blue" a tool again." This is pretty much state of the art. The wheel includes center bushings that allow mounting on 1/2" through 1" arbors in 1/8" steps. I purchased this and mounted it briefly on a free standing arbor without wheel guards, then decided before using it that unguarded just wasn't a good idea. I don't have an 8" grinder to mount it on, so it's never been used. There's a tiny nick on one edge, shown in photo #3, that was there when I purchased it.
