This is very hard to find original book entitled "Traction Farming and Traction Engineering"  It is a first printing and was published in 1913 by Frederick Drake and Co. and is one of the most comprehensive early books on prairie tractors.  It is jam packed with information and illustrations.  It is in excellent condition for being over100 years old with minor wear and soiling.  It measures about 5 1/4 x 7 3/8 inches with 330 pages.  It has chapters devoted to nearly all of the individual engine parts from pistons, cylinders, valves, rings, ignition, carburation and more.  It has illustrations of the Bates, Skibo, Huber, Aultman Taylor, Rumely, Fairbanks Morse, Avery, Twin City, Sawyer Massey, Minneapolis, and Case tractors.   It also has sections on water supply and electric light for the house and a very extensive section on threshing and threshing machines.  This is a very pointed and easy to read book and would be a fine addition to your early tractor library or literature collection.  These originals don't turn up very often so don't miss your chance on this one.  The pictures tell the story.  You won't be disappointed in any way.  Good Luck.
