This is a very hard to find original cast iron oil cup or reservoir for a JI Case steam tractor or early prairie tractor.  It is in excellent original condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind.  It is part number 1829C and the lid is 1830C.   I believe these were used to oil the rear cannon bearings on their steam tractors and possibly the early gas tractors.  It measures about 3 inches in diameter and about 4 1/8 inches tall.  The 1/2 inch NPT threads are in good shape.  I would say this oil cup is ready to be used on a tractor or put on the shelf for a spare.  These early oilers are extremely difficult to find in the wild or even at swap meets so if you've been looking for one don't miss your chance on this one.  It will likely be a long time before another one turns up and it probably won't be this nice.  I can be reached at 262 573 1931 if you'd like to talk about it.  The pictures tell the story.  Good Luck.
