Portable Microscope made by Norman Groom (UK). This is a 1 of a kind portable microscope and a lot of thought and skill has been employed to make this stunning instrument. This microscope made by Norman Groom and details were published in the journal Microscopy 33, July-December 1978, pp.365-373. It is a fantastic design and manufacture and is housed in a small hinged wooden box measuring 12.5cm X 20 cm X 5.25 cm and the total weight is 1 Kg. It has many features including a 10X eyepiece a  Leitz #3 objective, both top and transmitted lamps, substage Abbe condenser, with swing-out lens, rotating filter holder consisting of a blank aperture, polaroid disc, darkfield stop and pale green filter, Iris diaphragm and stage clips. The lights are powered by batteries. There is a socket so that a calculator charger can be used instead of using batteries or to charge rechargeable batteries. Accessories included in the box are a 10X eyepiece with graticule, Lomo 3.7X na .11 objective, an analyser to be used in conjunction with the polarising filter, extension sleeve for a high power objective and a prepared slide of arranged scales of flowers made by Norman Groom in 1986. I will also include a photocopy of the article from the journal Microscopy. This microscope was a valued instrument in my collection of portable microscopes and it has not been an easy decision to sell it. It will make a great addition to your microscope collection. Will post overseas at a fixed cost of $50 which includes insurance and tracking.
