These high quality PowerVar units (Model ABC500-22MED) are marked as 230VAC, 50Hz @ 2.14 Amps and were designed for international use but work just a well at 120VAC 60HZ. Units were removed from laboratory equipment kept in a clean room environment and are in excellent physical condition. Units are intended to provide protection against momentary spike and surges and to provide safe and stable power for very expensive medical equipment and laboratory instruments. These units are rated for use on medical equipment. Inputs and outputs are standard IEC-320C13 (Input) and IEC-320C14 (Output) power cord connectors - so the same unit can be use with either 120VAC mains and equipment or 240VAC mains and equipment by simply using different power cords. This unit is NOT the "ISO" model where neither leg of the output is connected to chassis ground - see manufacturer's documentation; "If the medical power conditioner model number is accompanied by the designation “ISO”, the output neutral is not bonded to ground. The output of “ISO” designated models floats above ground." I repeat these units are NOT the ISO model, but may be easily modified (at your own risk) as by simply cutting the jumper on the outlets between one of the power legs and ground (see picture). The transformers have a 1:1 ratio between input and output and work equally well at 120VAC or 240VAC. All units are removed from working equipment and re-tested before shipment (by powering a PC at 120VAC). The units contain a high quality toroid transformer (see pictures) with a 1:1 ratio between input and output windings - same voltage output as the voltage input. Most transformers of this type work equally well at 50 or 60 Hz and 120VAC or 240VAC. The transformer is marked Badger Transformer Part #608-10229 Rev B. and Part # 1TW608-10229-B. The salvage value of this high quality 500VA toroid transformer exceeds the buy it now price of the unit - and the unit may be easily modified (at your own risk) to suit your particular application. We have tested the units (to be sure they are operational and not DOA) on 120VAC with 100 Watt light bulb as a load and find that the output measures the same as the input - AND - for units modified to be isolation type units (by simply cutting the two jumpers on the outlets) - there is no voltage present (with 100K resistor as load to eliminate pickup from the leads) between either hot line and chassis ground. If modifications are intended you should be sure you are qualified to make such modifications and know what you are doing as risk of electrical shock or even death is possible. We do not recommend nor can we assist with such modifications nor accept any responsibility for such modifications, nor do we recommend or accept any responsibility if you use the unit for any purpose other than the applications and at the ratings as specified and intended by the manufacturer. I.E. we provide no warranty or guarantee for any particular use - any use for any application is at your own risk. Cover is secured to unit with two pin security screws - see picture. Units are guaranteed to not be DOA and in good condition - you may return for any reason - but you pay shipping BOTH WAYS.
