Pratt Burnerd Key Operated KC Series Manual Collet Chuck appears to be a D-5 since the 6 studs are each 3/4" diameter. Unit was used for woodworking and opens/closes smoothly. The key chuck is missing a couple of teeth (as shown in the photos), but that doesn't affect use. ? .001" repeatability ? Capacities from 1/16" through 1-1/2" ? Precision manufactured to fit D spindles ? Steel components are hardened and ground ? Simple operation. No drawbar or actuating cylinder required ? Accurate - .0002" TRI from rear mounting register working collet taper ? Use PBA Multi-Size Collets 1/8" range per collet. Collets have 6 gripping blades and can be for round or hexagon stock. This model uses EC collets. No collets included, but they are readily available used. The EC collet system is a superior system. Advantages of the Pratt Burnerd Multisize Collet system WIDE RANGE CAPACITY Each multisize collet has a gripping range of 125" with an extended range of .010" above and below each nominal size for a total range of .145" per collet. ADAPTABILITY Fractional, decimal, metric and non-standard bar sizes are all accommodated as the collet range is stepless. The collets will accept round and hexagonal bars. UNEQUALLED ACCURACY Each collet is inspected to .0005 maximum eccentricity at the nose of the collet. NO DISTORTION Geometrically designed. Ensures freedom from collet distortion and provides constant parallel grip throughout the gripping range with even wear and long life. ALL STEEL COLLETS Collet blades are all hardened and ground. INTERCHANGEABILITY Multisize collets are interchangeable between the various types of Pratt Burnerd collet chucks. MULTISIZE COLLETS Multisize collets are available with smooth blades or serrated blades for gripping black or scaly type material.
