This device enables the framer to mount graphic materials such as posters, photos, blueprints, etc. onto foamboard or other substrate. It consists of two hinged sections: a lower rectangular tubular steel base that contains a thick sheet of rubber, & an upper section that holds a perhaps 1/2 inch thick piece of glass. The two halves are separated when closed by a refrigerator-style gasket, which creates an airtight seal when in operation. Before placing atop the rubber sheet, the user applies adhesive to the foamboard, next places the graphic on this, then tops it off with a sheet of craft paper, which keeps the adhesive off of the glass when operating. The top half is lowered & latched; the vacuum pump turned on; & the air is removed from between the rubber & the glass, squeezing out air bubbles. After opening, the craft paper is removed, & it is trimmed to size with a matte cutter. When closed, the overall dimensions are about 102" X 53" X 6"; so it will accommodate prints up to 4' X 8'. It is in storage, so I have included no photos, but I will set it up & send photos if I hear from a serious potential purchaser. Please contact for details.
