YOU ARE BIDDING ON A COMPLETE BOUTIQUE LETTERPRESS SHOP. It includes a: Classic rebuilt and working 5 inch X 8 inch Kelsey platen “side crank” letterpress, Mercury Model 5-8, Excelsior; with good rollers, chase holder, chase and a complete shop behind it. With it, you can begin letterpress jobs at once, if you are already experienced. This press was rebuilt in 2012, and purchased by myself in January/February 2012. I am a 72 year old senior citizen, and my increasing disability has resulted in this sale. I was a beginner—and began not knowing one end from the other. I literally learned whatever I managed to from the Kelsey handbook pictures, as modest as it might seem. That and hard hands-on experience. This shop includes other than the press, chase holder and chase as photographed the following: (Type): 30 pt. Italic Monotype Barnard,; 16 pt. Wedding Text upper/lower case/diverse quads; 14 pt. Wedding Text upper/lower case/diverse quads; 12 Hollow Roman, upper/lower case/diverse quads; 24 pt. Redmond, upper/lower diverse quads; 12 pt. Goudy Old Style, upper/lower X 2 (sets) with diverse quads; ALL THE PREVIOUS TYPE ARE IN “HAMILTON” CASES, SORTED AND READY TO SET FROM. One Miscellaneous identified and unidentified type, in 1/4 Hamilton wooden case.
